Postdoctoral Research Fellows in Biostatistics/Statistical Genetics

The School of Public Health and Health Sciences at the University of Massachusetts Amherst seeks candidates to fill two (2) postdoctoral research fellow positions in Biostatistics/Statistical Genetics, sponsored by the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The successful candidate will work with an interdisciplinary team biostatisticians and clinical research investigators to develop and apply statistical methods for high-dimensional data in HIV/AIDS and Cardiovascular Disease research. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in statistics or biostatistics. Expertise in R, S-plus, C and/or SAS preferred.

The application review process will begin March 1, 2011 and will continue until the positions are filled. These positions have an anticipated start date of September 1, 2011.

The University of Massachusetts/Amherst is located in the scenic Pioneer Valley of Western Massachusetts which is home to five colleges (Amherst College, Hampshire College, Mount Holyoke College, Smith College and the University of Massachusetts) with easy access to several major metropolitan areas. The Division of Biostatistics and Epidemiology in the Department of Public Health is an active, academic research environment with seven Faculty of Biostatistics and five Faculty of Epidemiology.
