Computation-based Science and Technology Research Center (CaSToRC)

HPC Systems Administrator

The Computation-based Science and Technology Research Center (CaSToRC) has an opening for a Systems Administrator for Linux based Systems. The successful candidate will provide computational expertise and technical support for the management of large cluster systems and contribute in the development of high performance computing.

About us

CaSToRC is a research center of the Cyprus Institute (see www.cyi.ac.cy), a new dynamic academic research institute that is rapidly expanding. CaSToRC is being developed in partnership with NCSA of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and currently is in the process of implementing the infrastructure project Cy-Tera, which includes a multi-Teraflop High Performance Computing (HPC) facility. This is the first phase of development of CaSToRC and will initiate a research and educational program of international caliber in computational science, engineering and technology. The center aspires to be a catalyst for the development of research and education programs in this vital field in Cyprus an in the Eastern Mediterranean region. Future plans foresee expansion of CaSToRC to become a Tier-1 regional supercomputing facility; establish an interdisciplinary research and education center; perform frontier computation-based research in science, engineering and technology; and build the e-Science infrastructure needed by the Institute’s research programs.
